The Shure GLXD24R+ (GLX-D24R+, also written GLXD24R Plus) is a dual-band digital wireless vocal system with a half-rack GLXD4R+ receiver and a GLXD2+ handheld transmitter, for singers, presenters and venues that want the receiver in a rack. It operates in both the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands (Z3), runs up to 12 hours on its rechargeable SB904 lithium-ion battery, and delivers 120 dB of dynamic range. Choose the handheld with an SM58, BETA 58A or BETA 87A microphone head.

The receiver scans for the best channel and automatically moves away from interference without interrupting the audio, which matters in rooms full of Wi-Fi. A charging bay on the front of the receiver charges the transmitter battery whenever the receiver is plugged in, and the display shows the remaining transmitter runtime in hours and minutes.

Which microphone head should I choose?

Pick the SM58 for the familiar all-purpose vocal sound, the BETA 58A or the BETA 87A for a more focused vocal pickup. Each version of this listing is a complete system with that microphone on the GLXD2+ handheld, and the receiver and battery are the same across all three.

Does it fit in a rack?

Yes. The GLXD4R+ receiver is a half-rack steel unit, and the included hardware mounts it in a standard 19-inch equipment rack.

How do I charge the transmitter?

Drop the SB904 battery into the charging bay on the receiver, or charge it in the transmitter over USB-C. A 15-minute charge gives up to 1.5 hours of use and a 3-hour charge gives up to 11.5 hours. The transmitter does not send audio while its charging cable is connected.

How many GLX-D+ systems can I run together?

Up to 4 typical and 8 optimal on their own. Add the GLX-D+ Dual Band Frequency Manager and that rises to 11 typical and 16 optimal. The frequency manager works only with the GLXD4R+ rack receiver.

GLXD24R+ or GLXD24+?

Both use the same dual-band GLXD2+ handheld and SB904 battery. The GLXD24R+ adds the half-rack steel GLXD4R+ receiver with rack-mount hardware and compatibility with the frequency manager for larger setups. The GLXD24+ is the non-rack version and comes with a black carrying case instead. For a lavalier, headset or instrument instead of a handheld, see the GLXD14R+ rack system and the rest of the Shure GLX-D+ wireless systems.

What goes with the GLXD24R+?

A spare SB904 battery keeps a second one charged for long events. A second GLXD2+/SM58 handheld can be linked to the same receiver as a backup, but only one transmitter can be on at a time.
