The RMCseries of marine speakers by Rockville are a major upgrade to our oldRMS series. Dont get me wrong we loved our old series, but we strivefor perfection. We wanted a speaker that is more durable, more waterresistant, can handle more power, and put out better sound quality!

As alwayswe sent our team on a speaker-hunting adventure. We tested countlessprototypes until the RMC series was born. Rockvilleengineers care about quality and sound more than anything else. TheRMC65W was designed in a molded ABS plastic basket. The polypropylenecone is reliable and sounds great. This material is used on most of thetop speakers on the market. We use rubber surrounds on these toeliminate unwanted distortion. In addition rubber is a very waterproofmaterial. The ” polymer tweeter puts out incredible sounding highs. Thelow end bass and mids of these speakers really makes them stand out.

TheRMC65W 6.5″ marine speakers were engineered to deliver amazing power andsound quality in the outdoors; be it saltwater, freshwater or any otherharsh environments. These speakers can withstand tons of abuse and canhandle 300 watts peak and 75 watts RMS each. These Rockville speakerscomply with the CEA 2031 Loud Speaker Standard. This same ratingstandard is used by the highest end marine brands in the industry. CEAcompliant means you can rest assured that the ratings are 100%legitimate. The Proton Series’ dimensions are made possible by its outstanding efficient class D design which is over 90%efficient. The result is more power in your boat with less current drain. Proton Series amplifiers are 2 ohm stable in stereo and 4 ohm in mono.There are so many options of configurations. Any 2 channels can be bridged to 1 channel. So for example, you can bridge 4 channels to 2 channels and still have an additional 4 channels remaining. You can simply plug 1 speaker to each channel. You can use 2 or 4 of the channels for subwoofers and the rest for your full range speakers. The configuration options are amazing with this amplifier. Whether you have 4 speakers, or 16 speakers, and whether you do or do not have subwoofers, this amplifier will power your system. With a smart auto thermal reset circuit, Proton Series amplifiers are almost impossible to shut down. When they get too warm, the thermal circuit reduces power by up to a third until they cool down enough to power up again at full power. And mixed impedances on different channels are no problem with the advanced rail voltage circuitry design.

This amplifier is so awesome I almost forgot to write about the most important thing. How much power the thing has. The short answer is a boatload!

But in all seriousness, this amplifier is extremely powerful. The true RMS ratings are 65 watts x 8 at 4 ohms or 95 watts x 8 at 2 ohms. This is the Dyno Certified RMS Power Ratings.In total this has 750 watts RMS and 1,500 watts peak output. There are not many marine amplifiers on the market with this much power. Other brands out there will rate their amps at thousands of watts but in reality are only a hundred or 200 watts. But this Rockville amplifier is legitimate and will produce or exceed its rated power. To prove the power; you can check the fuse rating. This amplifier is equipped with an 80A fuse. A general rule for 12 volt amplifiers is if you multiply the fuse rating by 10 that is close to the real power you will get. In this case that is 800 watts RMS (we rate it at 750w RMS since this is Dyno Certified RMS Power Ratings).The peak rating can be used to compare with brands who use peak ratings such as Boss and Power Acoustik while the Dyno Certified RMS rating can be used to compare with top brands such as Kicker, Rockford, Alpine, etc.

Utilizing the RCA preampchannels youcan easily daisy chain a second amp for an almost unlimited number ofspeakers! But one amp in most setups will give you more than enoughpower and channels. This amp is a real marine amp and all the componentshave been fully marinized. It’s resistant to both fresh water and saltwater. The high quality surface mount (SMD) double sided PCB isconformal-coated keeping the board and components protected from theelements. All connections to speakers and RCA cables are 100% stainlesssteel to avoid any signal robbing corrosion.
